The mode selective Photonic Lantern is used as multiplexer/demultiplexer for mode division multiplexing application. it bridges sm fibers with a few-mode fiber, and can realize the conversion of multiple fundamental modes to designated high-order modes respectively, thus completing mode multiplexing. Based on the mode division multiplexing technology of few-mode optical fiber, the mutually independent orthogonal modes in the few-mode optical fiber are used as independent channels, thereby greatly improving the communication capacity of the optical fiber communication system.
